Support Dãmasa's Sacred Ancestral Pilgrimage to Gabon&Ghana

My name is Dãmasa. I am a healer, shaman, and ritualist devoted to helping people remember their wholeness through ancestral communication, energy work, spiritual mentorship, and sensory exploration. For over a decade, I have poured my life force into offering healing, teaching, and love across many lands and bodies. Now, I stand at a powerful threshold in my own becoming.

This summer, from July 5th to September 5th, I will embark on a sacred return to Gabon and Ghana—a pilgrimage to my ancestral roots and a passage through two deeply rigorous, traditional initiations in the Bwiti lineage. These are not retreats or spiritual vacations. They are ancient rites of passage—physically, mentally, and spiritually demanding. They are designed to break you open and rebuild you in the image of your ancestors, your devotion, and your destiny.

Why This Matters

As an African American woman, whose ancestral ties were severed through slavery and colonization, this journey is not just personal—it is reparative, revolutionary, and collective. To walk this path is to remember what was once stolen—not just land or lineage, but rhythm, ritual, tradition, and responsibility.

I have been called to carry these medicines and teachings forward in service to our healing. And I say yes—with reverence, with trembling, and with a heart wide open. This journey is not only for me—it is a sacred return for my entire lineage. I will be the first in my known bloodline to return to West African soil since our ancestors were taken centuries ago. This is a pilgrimage of remembrance, reclamation, and return.

It is a humbling privilege—and also a costly one. That is why I have called in my community to help raise $15,500 to fund this sacred journey. Since my birthday on May 17th, I’ve received $2,601 in love offerings, and I now seek to raise the remaining $12,899 with your support.

Journey Details

1. Ngembe Initiation (Gabon): July 8 – August 4

Departing from NYC I will embark on a three-week women’s initiation held on a remote island off the coast of Gabon where I will be in deep ceremony and purification with female elders and local initiates—immersed in ancient teachings, song, silence, fire, water, and the body. I will be one of only three Americans welcomed into this sacred circle. This rite will sharpen my intuitive gifts, fortify my spiritual leadership, deepen my capacity to hold ritual space, and root me more deeply in the traditions of feminine power and protection.

2. Ghana (Dagbon Territory): August 5 – 17

I will journey to the land of the Dagbon people, this land is part of my maternal bloodline, where my teachers and spiritual family reside. Here, I will make ritual offerings, receive guidance, and serve through ancestral connection and land-based ritual. This time will also allow me to integrate the first initiation through community devotion, practice, and presence.

3. Mabanji Initiation (Gabon): August 18 – September 4

A two-week immersion guided by the sacred plant medicine Iboga. This rite is known to strip away illusion and ego, calling the initiate into radical self-honesty and ancestral clarity. This is a profound death-and-rebirth process. It will clear the path for me to emerge aligned, humble, and deeply tethered to the ancestral and elemental wisdom I am meant to carry.

4. Return & Integration: September 5

I will return to Los Angeles to be held and cared for by my sister and inner circle as I re-enter this realm. The integration time supports connection with the gifts and release of shadows unearthed through this long, sacred process so that this new medicine I carry may begin to bloom into service.
