On what should have been a fun day at the race track, Dalton suffered a serious and unexpected injury. Dalton was watching near the staging lanes and a valve cover cap broke off during a burnout. The metal struck his leg, causing a severe tibia fracture and a large open wound in his leg.
Thanks to the incredibly fast response of the EMTs on site, Dalton received immediate care and was airlifted by helicopter to Peoria, where surgeons were concerned about artery damage, soft tissue damage, and placed a rod and wound vac in his leg. We are so grateful for the quick actions and professionalism of the emergency responders and medical team who helped him through those critical moments.
Dalton now faces a long recovery and will be unable to work for several months while he heals. Anyone who knows Dalton knows how hardworking and dedicated he is, making this setback especially difficult.
To make matters more challenging, Dalton and his wife, Bri, just welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Livvy, into the world only two weeks ago. Bri is currently off work caring for their newborn daughter, recovering from birth and is now also helping care for Dalton as he recovers and remains non-weight-bearing.
On top of everything else, Dalton and Bri have been working hard to renovate the home they planned to move into this summer. With medical bills, lost income, a newborn at home, and construction projects now on hold, the road ahead will be challenging.
If you are able, any donation—big or small—would help ease the financial burden on this young family and allow them to focus on what matters most: Dalton’s recovery and caring for baby Livvy. If you can’t donate, sharing this page and keeping their family in your thoughts and prayers is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support, generosity, and kindness during this difficult time.
