Dallas was hit by a truck going way too fast in a freak accident. We had someone repair our fence but a piece was not done and he didn’t tell us and when I let them out to use the restroom in the morning I guess he wandered out and a truck going way too fast hit him. I was watering up front and actually saw it happen and I was in such shock I threw up. We scooped him and his legs up and drove to the closest vet. They told us to put him down, so we took him someplace else, and they said the same. We then to him to the vet school in Texas and they treated him for almost 2 months. The initial estimate was 20,000… but I couldn’t and didn’t want to stop when we started. He broke both legs, dislocated his hip, and was missing the skin in a lot of places. They did a graft and he has pins in both legs now. He will need 2 more surgeries after this, one to remove to pins and the other to fix the hip. He’s a trooper but everything feels very stressful
