My name is Dallas Estell and I am a third-year Arts and Animation student attending Loyola Marymount University with a current grade-point-average of 3.75. Two months ago, I was accepted into the study abroad program giving me the opportunity to study at the Florence University of The Arts in Florence, Italy this upcoming spring semester. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me and will be my first time traveling outside of the country. I would also like to add that I was the only African American as well as the only male student chosen for this program and am extremely honored to be chosen.

During my time in Italy, I will study famous architecture and historic statues to improve my understanding of fine art. Focusing on my art career is one of the reasons why I am taking this trip. I'm excited to have the opportunity to grow my skills in drawing human figures. Being in Florence will allow me the opportunity to immerse myself in a completely new culture by engaging and learning from the locals.

Now that you know a little about me, I will get to the reason for this fundraiser... In order to make this trip to Italy, I am responsible for buying the airline ticket to Italy. This fundraiser will be aimed at raising funds to fly to Florence, Italy. Extra funds raised for this will cover any emergency expenses that come up in the process of traveling to and being in Italy. As a first-generation student, this is a dream come true to visit another country. The privilege of being able to study abroad is an important one and I am grateful to have this chance to spend my spring semester in Italy. Any donations to support my academic journey to Italy would be greatly appreciated and I hope to fulfill this lifelong dream of mine.
