On June 7, 2025, my daughter, Daliyah delivered my first grandchild, Israel Alexander a healthy 8 pound 2 oz baby boy at Sharp Memorial in San Diego, California. During their two days stay at this hospital, I was not pleased with how the staff treated us. The hospital is one of the most expensive hospitals in the area and it felt as though they considered us not worthy of being there. Since my daughter’s insurance allowed
On June 9, 2025, the day my daughter and the baby were to be released from the hospital, the hospital Staff asked numerous personal questions such as what address the baby was being taken after their release from the hospital. We gave them both my daughter’s address and my fiancé’s address because as I’d informed them, I and my fiancé would be helping my daughter with the care of the baby. On June 9, 2025, a social worker from CPS came to visit my daughter before their release to do what she termed an emergency investigation. I was puzzled as to why this was necessary because we were never informed that there were potential problems or concerns.
One day after their release from the hospital, 2 policemen showed up at my fiancé’s home asking if they could enter. They were looking for my grandson, Israel. At the time, the only person at home was my fiancé.
On the second day after their release from the hospital, my fiancé was at work when the Sherriff and CPS came to my home demanding to come in. The sheriff handcuffed my daughter with no explanations as to why.
I asked the sheriff to call his supervisor for my daughter had given me verbal authorization to take temporary custody of the baby but to no avail did he do so.
Little Israel was then ripped out of my home and I was verbally told that my grandson was being put into foster care for 48 hours. I nor my daughter was served with any paperwork. The baby was simply taken. I failed to understand for what purpose would CPS take a baby from its family and place him into the foster care system without clear provocations. What came to mind was that this situation was similar to what happened during slavery when slave children were taken from the parents by the Master and sold as a commodity to the highest bidder for financial gains.
I begged CPS worker to show me documentation of the 48-hour hold. After approximately an hour she finally showed me the document and I snapped a picture for proof.
My daughter who had just given birth 4-5 days prior and whose hormones were still elevated was devastated and crying hysterically. I had to be strong for her, although I was dying inside myself.
The system has not only failed us but we were also set up. Approximately a couple of weeks later, we went to court for the state to lodge a complaint in front of the judge. I, the grandmother nor my daughter were allowed to speak. A CPS social worker stated in court that the baby’s feet and clothes were dirty and the baby’s nose was running when he was picked up. These were blatant lies. Israel was totally clean and dressed in a new outfit with white socks and his nose was not runny.
My daughter was assigned a court appointed counsel who has done little to nothing at all. The 48 hours hold was a lie. My grandson is still in foster care but thanks to the Almighty God we now have hope. I’ve found a counsel that has 30 years of experience in dealing with CPS and has promised that he will be able to return little Israel Alexander safely home into our arms in the next three to four weeks. We need your help whether it be financial, prayer, or both. All help is greatly appreciated. Please open your heart and bless our family. If you have experienced anything similar, please share with me (DM me, Georgina Alexander).
