I’m Dale Holbrook of Veteran Sculptor located in Sarasota, Florida. I’m a retired Veteran and I try to work primarily honoring Veterans with sculptures! The Maquette pictured above is a small version of an adult size statue I’m raising money for cost of materials and foundry cost. I entered this sculpture in the national Veterans Arts Competition and won overall Nationwide.
“Taking time “is very personal to me as the combat action I was exposed to during Operation Urgent Fury and subsequent operations near Beirut, Lebanon as I spent nearly a decade in the Navy. When I was deployed , I would think of my life and son and wondered if I would see my loved ones again. Many of my shipmates had similar stories. I thought you never know how much time you have left! That’s why it is important to spend as much quality time you can with your loved ones whenever you can. Don’t take for granted your lifespan and taking and spending time with my son motivated me to share this important message to everyone as a reminder. “Taking Time” before it’s too late! The Sculpture has hourglass with sand representing time. Very small amount shown in adult whereas the child has more. “Taking Time” stands out as an evocative testament to the bonds of fatherhood, the weight of service, and the legacy that binds generations. With father and son hands interlocked we see a. Promise - a promise of memories cherished, the stories shared and of the legacy that will endure. The Statue is a tribute to every Veteran, every father and every son . Location TBD but the white house would be the dream location. Through its exquisite detail and profound symbolism, “Taking Time” beckons us all to pause , reflect, and truly cherish the bonds that define us . Thankyou
