Support Dale Scotto's Battle Against Rare Lymphomas

Donation protected
I am organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of Dale Scotto. For Robert, her husband of 32 years, Dale is his entire universe; it’s a close second for their son, Tyler.

Dale is battling an exceedingly rare combination of multiple types of Stage 4 lymphoma – including B-cell and T-cell – first identified in her lungs some two months ago. Her condition is so rare that it took four biopsies during several months of never-ending blood tests, CT scans, and PET scans – as well as multiple consultations between her doctor, the NIH, and other experts – before a definitive diagnosis could finally be rendered. Over the past year Dale has lost some of her eyesight and her weight has plummeted to 115 pounds, down from a lean and healthy 140. She has been suffering with numerous skin lesions which have now spread across most of her body, causing her to live in a constant state of unbearable itching – for which there has been no means of relief.

Through God’s good graces, Dale was fortunate enough to be accepted into a clinical trial involving stem-cell transplants, a treatment which doctors say will offer her a reasonable chance of survival for the next few years – her only chance, actually. Prior to the stem-cell procedure, however, she must first undergo six rounds of targeted chemotherapy every three weeks, followed by a final, intensive (96-hour) round in-hospital. This final stage of treatment will require her to be isolated for three weeks in a special hospital “clean room” ward.

Bob and Dale have left no stone unturned in researching the absolute best course for Dale’s survival. In addition to her acceptance into the clinical trial, it was nothing short of a miracle that she was also accepted as a patient in a world-class alternative treatment facility, one which normally has a one-year waiting list. There they have already started her on Vitamin C infusion and other state-of-the-art adjunct treatments, such as UVBI and ozone therapies – all tailored to optimize the healing process and lessen the harmful component of the (grueling, but essential) chemotherapy prior to her stem-cell transplant.

Bob and Dale, though hard-working all their lives, are not rich, far from it. They have exhausted their meager savings and virtually every source of money to pay for Dale’s medical needs thus far, including emergency-use access to their modest nest-egg retirement savings and getting help from generous family members. Yet the bills continue to mount every day at an alarming rate. Technically, Bob still works full-time as a 28-year partner in an environmental consulting business which, unfortunately, is struggling mightily. For the last several months his and Dale’s only sources of income have been their monthly Social Security checks. And Bob knows he will likely need to hire a care giver for her very soon.

I am reaching out to you in the hope that you will consider making a generous donation to Dale; but please know that any amount helps. I can tell you that she and Bob are grateful beyond measure for any help you might be able to provide. And if you would like to help but can’t afford to donate, please accept our thanks for your time and consideration. In that case, I ask that you pass this on to anyone you feel might be interested (and better positioned) in supporting Dale financially, and that you keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

May God bless you.
