Please Pray for and Support Our Amazing Son-in-Law and His Family

Many of you know that our daughter, Sara, has been battling serious health challenges for years. She is disabled (elementary education teacher)with multiple sclerosis, has survived two dissections, lives with POTS, is immunocompromised with low IVIG, and faces ongoing gastrointestinal and other medical issues. She is an amazing daughter, wife and mother. Her faith and trust in God is the anchor of her soul.

This week, our family received another heartbreaking blow. What was initially thought to be a pulled muscle in Dale’s back now appears based on multiple tests and partial pathology reports to be stage 4 colon cancer (adenocarcinoma ) which has metastasized to his bones. Dale is suffering from painful lumbar fractures and numerous lesions throughout his body. We are currently awaiting additional biopsy results to determine treatment options and next steps.

Dale a pediatric nurse is just 38 years old, has been the rock for Sara and their three children—Isaac (19), Emma (12), and Charlie (8). He has stood by Sara through every storm with unwavering love and strength. He has remained faithful, compassionate, and committed during times when many would have walked away.

Now, the family faces an uphill journey. Their needs are many—some known now, others yet to arise. When Dale goes on disability, their only income will be reduced by over 50%.

Immediate and future additional needs may include:

* An adjustable bed for comfort and healing.

* A platform wheelchair lift, as the master bedroom and shower are on the second floor.

* Home renovations to accommodate mobility.

* Uninsured medical expenses.

But we are not without hope (Isaiah 43:19 and Romans 8:18). We are grateful for God, family, and friends—a trio that continues to carry us through. Dale and Sara are leaning heavily on faith, friends and community during this difficult time.

Asking for help is not easy for our family. But many of you have asked what you can do. First and foremost, we covet your prayers for healing, comfort, strength, and peace.
