We are reaching out to ask for your support for our friend Dak.

On July 21st, Dak was on his way home from work when he was suddenly hit by another car in a hit and run on the I-70 to 635 on-ramp. This initial accident caused his car to spin out and become immobile and another car hit him from behind. Dak and the other remaining driver involved in this initial hit and run got out to assess the situation. Dak was then immediately impacted by a separate vehicle traveling down the highway ramp.

This left him in the ICU with severe, life-threatening injuries. Among several other injuries, Dak has suffered the loss of his right leg, a broken pelvis, and a broken left leg. He has already been through several surgeries and required multiple blood transfusions.

At this point, he has been moved to a long term rehabilitation facility. The team there is optimistic about his recovery, but it is going to be a long and difficult road.

Dak is an exceptionally caring friend, bandmate, and community member whom we all cherish so much. We are so grateful that he has survived this horrific accident, but recognize that he is going to need a lot of support in order to get back to doing the things he loves.

Our goal with this fundraiser is to help Dak focus on healing instead of the financial burden of navigating his injuries and long term recovery. Anything you are able to contribute is so greatly appreciated.
