On the night of June 2nd, 2025, our kind, charismatic, and brilliant 17-year-old Dakota passed away during a sudden cardiac arrest. She was such a bright soul with so much more to offer to the world.

Dakota wasn’t just a “good kid”—she was the kind of person who would lend a hand when someone needed help and light up every room she walked into. She was passionate about her causes and whether you knew her for years or only met for a few moments, she left an impact. Her family is facing this sudden, heartbreaking loss and are overwhelmed with grief.

Dakota went to international school in Shanghai, and was loved in both her Shanghai and California communities. We are working to repatriate her home to California and this GoFundMe has been created to help ease just a small part of their burden during this devastating time.
