My name is DaJanique Mahone. I’m 32 years old, and I have three children. A few months back I was diagnosed with a rare breast cancer “triple negative." At first I was in pure denial about everything. Surprisingly, my mother was also diagnosed with the same condition twice, and one of the times at the same exact age as myself, 32. Witnessing her battle this as an adolescent was rough. In the beginning, I tried my best to hide how I was truly feeling and continue my life as normal. When you’re self-employed and trying to grow your own business, you don’t think about something like this happening. I haven’t worked consistently in about six months to date. This is something I never could have prepared for. My body isn’t responding well to treatment, and I was recently informed we have to stop treatment and move forward to surgery on this coming Monday, September 9, 2024. This procedure requires a few months of recovery time. I remember growing up hearing, "Ask, and you shall receive." Well, this is me asking, anything helps. I thank you in advance for everything.
