ISO Help

I honestly do not even know how to put this into words without wanting to cry. The past two days have been very emotional for me. For those who don’t know, I rehomed my dog Daisy almost a year ago to someone we know (I will not be saying his name). I have seen her once since then; her skin was not in the best shape, but it wasn’t terrible. She’s always had allergies, but I was always able to maintain them when I had her. Fast forward to a week ago, this man reached out to my husband asking for help, stating he’s having issues with maintaining her skin. We offered options and wanted to help, but we never heard anything back. Nothing prepared me for what was about to happen.

Fast forward to Friday while I’m at work, I get a phone call from my mom. The dog pound called her, stating Daisy has been picked up. I immediately contacted the pound. They said she was dropped off the day before; someone claimed to have found her on the side of the road and that she was in rough shape. They got my contact information from her microchip. My husband still was not able to make contact with the guy, so he went to his house and spoke to his mom. Then he finally made contact and dropped off her cage at our house this morning. It took everything in me to not go off on him.

Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to the pound before they closed, so I picked her up on Saturday. Nothing prepared me for what I was going to see. I let them know what had happened, and they confirmed the man I rehomed her to was the one who abandoned her at the pound, telling them a different story. I filled out a statement and reported him; karma will be coming. The moment they brought her out, I completely lost it. I’ve been crying since. How can someone let a dog get this bad? You know where we live, know where my husband works, and his phone number, but instead, you decided to drop her off at the pound!? What if she wasn’t microchipped? I would have never known what happened to her. She could have been euthanized!!!

With me being 8 months pregnant and trying to make room for him, I’m desperately asking for help. I have made a GoFundMe to help with her medical bills because this is going to seriously put a strain on us. If anyone knows of any places I can take her to get help on finding a legitimate home for her, I would be so grateful. Please share and make this post blow up. This baby girl deserves so much better than all of this.
