Daisy, aged just 8, has thrown herself heart and soul into her karate journey — and what a journey it’s becoming! Her dedication, discipline and passion have already taken her to competitions across the UK, and now she’s been selected to compete internationally in Malta this March.
This is an incredible opportunity for a young athlete, but as with many sports, the costs of travel, accommodation, training, and equipment quickly add up. We’re reaching out to ask for support in helping Daisy continue chasing her dreams.
What Daisy Has Achieved So Far
Daisy trains with Dokan Karate Club for 12 hours per week over 6 days. She has achieved 21 medals and 9 trophies in just over a year. At the most recent competition, the UAK in Lichfield, Daisy brought home an amazing 8 medals — 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze!
Earlier this month, at the EAK event in Warrington, Daisy competed among the top young karate athletes in the country and proudly placed 4th out of the top 10 competitors — a brilliant achievement for someone her age.
️ Upcoming Competitions
With your support, Daisy aims to compete in several major events this year, including:
Malta Open & WKA World Championships – March
Leeds Junior Open – May
Scottish Open – June
European Karate Championships – October
Each event is a stepping stone in her development as a young martial artist, giving her valuable experience, confidence, and the chance to proudly represent her club.
To contribute towards her own journey, Daisy will be taking part in a 7‑mile sponsored walk on Saturday 14th March from Roker Pier in Sunderland all the way to Scoop & Bean Ice-Cream Parlour in South Shields. She’s determined to put in the effort both on and off the mat!
