It is incredibly difficult for me to write this. Those who know me know that my dog, Daisy, is my world. She is more than just a pet; she is my constant companion, my confidant, and my third child.
Recently, our lives turned upside down. Daisy has been struggling with a significant decrease in her appetite, and after taking her to the vet, we were devastated to learn that she has large masses in her abdomen. Given their size and the concerning fluid buildup in her chest and abdomen, which is making it hard for her to move and breathe, the vet believes there is a high chance this is cancer.
As you can imagine, we are doing everything we can to get her the care she needs, but the diagnostic tests and necessary treatments are very expensive. I have always prided myself on being able to handle things on my own, but to give Daisy the best fighting chance, I have to step out of my comfort zone and ask for help.
Your support will go directly toward:
• Life-saving procedures to drain the fluid from her abdomen and chest so she can breathe and move more comfortably.
• Essential medications, including steroids and antibiotics, to help fight inflammation, manage her symptoms, and hopefully help her regain her appetite.
• Diagnostic testing required to confirm the diagnosis and determine the best possible treatment plan for the masses.
Asking for help is a new experience for me, but I am doing this because I love Daisy so much and I am not ready to give up on her. If you are able to contribute, every dollar goes directly toward her care, her comfort, and her path to potential recovery.
If you aren’t in a position to donate, I completely understand. Please just keep Daisy in your thoughts and prayers, and if you would consider sharing this page, it would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support during this incredibly painful time.
With love,
Carmen
