Support Daisy Mae's Journey to Recovery

Hi folks - thanks for visiting our fund.

I’m Lauren and this fund is for my pup Daisy Mae (aka Daisy Dukers, Dukeroni, Dukes, Lil’ Nug, Puppy Girl). This week, a mass the size of a clementine was discovered on Daisy’s right salivary gland. As a rescue and previous puppy mill momma, she came to me five years ago scared of the world and truly heartbroken from watching litter after litter of puppies being taken from her. Full of anxiety, it was nearly impossible to get a leash or harness on her, or even touch her without her crouching down or retreating to her crate. Earning her trust and building her confidence would prove to be a long road full of patience, understanding, and resilience (from both of us).

If you love your companion animal(s) the way I do, you know the feeling of being willing to shave off years on your own life to give them more time on this earth by your side. I don’t really know the pain and trauma she experienced in her first 5 years of life, but what I do know is that when I decided to foster-fail her and officially adopt her, it was my oath to her that I would be her forever place of safety, comfort, wholeness, and love.

If you are able to give in any way, any amount, or simply support our mission by sharing this fund with your puppy-loving friends and family, we would be forever grateful for your love and support of Daisy in her journey of fighting this disease. Her initial care plan (including testing and mass removal) has been estimated between $5,000-$7,000. We’ve been told this can be very beatable! But as with any sickness, the sooner we can raise the funds and get the surgery scheduled, the sooner we can get her feeling better and on the road to recovery.

She has come so far in the last five years. Today, she is sassy and bold, loves to lead, and knows what she wants. She’s confident, brave, protective, and is always making sure everyone - and every pup - is okay. Her growth and strength continue to inspire me, and I am thankful for her trust and love.
