Support Dahvi's second surgery. URGENT

A brief update on Dahvi's condition and why we are here again....for surgery round two!

Dahvi has been doing really well since her first surgery (see below) . It took about 3 months to adjust to her medications and life without her adrenal's and one kidney. She has often gotten sick since she does not have an immune system to help her fight off even a common cold so it's been challenging.
While she has been healing up and adjusting, she was scheduled for a second surgery for a very large fibroid tumor that was found in December 2022, last year. Things were going well, we worked with a doctor and surgery was set for November 2023 after a lot of testing and studies. The tumor has grown substantially from 8 CM to 12CM as of recent and further imaging showed that she also has a calcified ovary. We have not yet received the biopsy for the tumor that was done last week but she is showing cells that cause cancer again! Since she has a history of cancer and tumors that grow rapidly we are on very high alert and everything we are currently doing is with major urgency.

Unfortunately, the OB/GYN who was supposed to do the surgery, cancelled 4 days before without a real explanation and at the end of the insurance year, left us with NO OTHER surgeon to be referred to. Just a "take care". Dahvi bleeds continually and her risk is growing for cancer and complications. It's been a very difficult 2 months as she has aged out of her insurance coverage with the family and now has to get her own so she can have the surgery with a different doc at UCLA in late January....we are pinched for time and again in need of paying the deductible since it's now going to be a new insurance year.
Yes, you can guess we are pretty upset as a family especially with the fact that there is again, a high risk for cancer in this situation.

We are again raising money to help navigate the deductible and other expenses as she can not work and has been officially "disabled" for the last month. She will be unable to work until she is healed after the surgery so she has no way to pay for any of this. We are stretched as a family from the first surgery (see below)

As you can imagine, it's been a rough year for us in many regards and are navigating being dropped by this surgeon and "figuring it" out from here. Imagine paying the bills, meeting the deductible and now being forced to do it all over again because of someone's negligence.

I know it's a huge ask to support us, but we are making a powerful request for support once again as a family and also asking for healing prayers as we, for the second time in a year, navigate surgery, cancer and whatever else she will need to face.

We are truly grateful for your continued love, support and prayers. We are almost through this...

Thank you again,
Dahvi, Anastacia and Steve

Here was our original request in May
Our daughter Dahvi is currently 25 years old but at the age of 3, in 2001, she was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor. It is a fairly rare, fast-growing cancerous tumor that grows off of the kidney.
In 2001, the kidney was removed and she underwent radiation and chemotherapy. During that process, she was left with one adrenal and one kidney.
She has had 20 years cancer free until recently when another malignant 8cm tumor was found on the adrenal and another small one again, growing off of her only kidney. She has also been diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening syndrome called Cushing’s disease which has caused a myriad of health issues including high blood pressure and diabetes.
As you can imagine, it’s been a long journey the last few months to have multiple PET scans, lots of blood work and to come up with a diagnosis as well as a surgery plan. We are very lucky to have the incredible team of doctors we have at UCLA, but the bills are mounting!

Dahvi will finally have surgery in June and will be unable to work for up to 2-3 months for healing and cancer treatment and also because a second surgery will be needed for a separate issue on top of the several weeks of healing from the first surgery to remove the adrenal and 2 tumors. The second surgery will require a month of healing.
We are asking for any help we can receive to support her as she has a car payment, animals, an apartment (lease) and bills along with the surmounting medical bills that are not covered by insurance.

Dahvi is a strong, powerful and incredible young woman who has endured a lot up to this point and we want to make sure she has a stress-free healing process. Alleviating some of the stress of worrying about losing everything in this delicate and lenghty process would be a blessing to her and to us as a family. No one plans to be unwell and certainly not to have their entire life change overnight. This is requiring time, travel expenses, and money we as a family can not come up with to keep it all afloat for the next few months until she can return to work.

All funds will be used to handle medical bills, medications not covered, the lease on the car and apartment and the overhead. Any expenses for specialists, treatments and travel associated with doctor visits. Unfortunately, disability does not give us a significant enough benefit to help with all of this. It barely makes a dent.

Along with any donations to help us handle the bills, we ask only for your prayers and good energy on her healing journey and we thank you so deeply from the bottom of our hearts for all of your love and support.

With love, gratitude & thanks,
Dahvi, Anastacia & Steve
