Support Daffi's Urgent Ear Surgery

Hello everyone we really need your help! We currently have a sweet dog named Daffi who was adopted from our shelter (FIRST STATE ANIMAL CENTER & SPCA) back in 2017. She was recently picked up by animal control running the streets in January of this year and brought to another shelter in our area. Her microchip was scanned and came back to being adopted from our facility. She was then returned into our care. During her intake we realized she had severe ear infections in both ears. Our veterinarian administered strong oral antibiotics and twice daily drops but with no results after 2 weeks. A culture was taken from the ears and sent out to the lab coming back as a drug resistant bacteria called pseudomonas that has had a long time to fester from neglect of treatment for a prolonged period of time. Despite multiple sedated flushes and more strong otic antibiotics and steroids she was still suffering (whining and crying out continuously)from excruciating pain. Our veterinary team determined she needed to be seen by a specialist. We scheduled a consultation at aavec in Annapolis Md. Daffi unfortunately needs a TECA or total ear canal ablation and partial removal of the ear flap from cauliflower ear that the specialist said was also causing her pain. They are trying to save the right ear canal (hence the reason the CT is needed on the estimate)but the bacteria is also present on that side just not as severe. Unfortunately if we do not act soon we’re told the bacteria is going to penetrate the bone and reach her brain then it will be too late to save her. She loves everyone she meets including the specialist who said “she’s such a sweet dog”. She also loves other dogs too. She has been suffering for far too long and deserves too live a happy pain free life in a loving home. Please help us help daffi get to live many more happy years snuggling on a couch which she so greatly deserves. No donation is too small and anything anyone can give to help is greatly appreciated.
