UPDATE: below you can read his whole story , but as of Saturday November 29th my father Chris who is disabled & suffers w a severe brain injury, was trying to follow a wire of some sort to fix his cable to his house (so he thought) he followed it & it led under his neighbors house, without any warning shots or talking to my father his new neighbor shot at him 4 times ,hitting him twice in both of his legs… my father was already walking away when he did this!! my father was flown out to a hospital a couple hours away which he has been for 3 days now & hoping to be released this week , his fibula is fractured & he will be having a very hard time walking for a while. I’m creating this to get some extra support and help for him for the days I may not be able to, I have two children & he has no other family around . Anything is so very helpful, and what we have left will go towards his rent , thank you.
For those of you who knew & love my dad, I have found him a place which they are willing to let him pay $800 a month, being that he only lives off $1000 a month for disability , I'm trying to raise $ to cover as much rent as possible so we do not have to worry about where he will sleep. . (Who can live off $200 a month)
Backstory for those who don't know-
In 2017 my father was attacked in a parking lot of an OBX restaurant by a man he did not know. My father was stabbed in the neck, which severed his carotid artery. He was rushed to the hospital which was not equipped to take care of his injury. By the time he he was flown by helicopter to Virginia where he underwent surgery. A blood clot had lodged in his brain & he suffered a stroke. The portion of his brain that was affected by the lack of oxygen controls language. Aphasia results from damage or injury to parts of the brain that controls language.
Aphasia affects a person's ability to communicate, but it doesn’t impair intelligence. People who have aphasia may have a hard time speaking & finding the "right" words to complete their thoughts. They may also have problems understanding conversation, reading & comprehending written words, writing words, & using numbers. People with aphasia may also repeat words or phrases.
His right side was also affected by the stroke. He has not regained control or use of his right hand. He has been such an amazing father & grandfather & deserves so much more than what he’s been through! If you can help in anyway, it would be so appreciated or just share & pray if you are unable I am his only child & only family he has in the state. If you’ve read this far thank you !
