Help Dad Recover from Open Heart Surgery
Hello, we are Audrey and Lydia, daughters of Jim and Carlene, and we're reaching out to you with a heavy heart. Our dad, Jim, will undergo emergency open heart surgery on April 9th. This surgery is critical for his health, but the medical bills are overwhelming.
Following this procedure, he will be in the hospital for about a week. Once home, he will have to go many weeks (>6) without pay. Last Fall, Dad had shoulder surgery requiring multiple weeks off work, leaving him with insufficient PTO for recovery from heart surgery.
About Jim: Dad continues to work tirelessly to support his family and serve his patients. Now, he needs our support more than ever.
- He works as a Recreation Therapy Specialist with individuals experiencing mental health crises (25+ years!)
- He is artistic (especially loves using pastels and acrylic paint)
- He has a big heart for animals.
- He is passionate about nature.
Why We Need Your Help: The cost of the surgery, hospital stay, medications, and follow-up care is substantial. Despite having insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are more than we can manage. We are humbly seeking your generosity to help cover these medical bills and ensure Dad gets the best care possible.
How Your Donation Will Help:
- Surgery costs
- Hospital stay and recovery
- Medications and follow-up appointments
- Additional medical expenses
- Lost income from recovery time
