On August 13, 2025 we discovered someone had broken into our restaurant and caused extensive damage and vandalism. After being closed for 5 weeks for major repairs, we look forward to reopening around September 19, 2025 to serve the coastal community, travelers and locals on Highway 1 once again.
We are humbly asking our community to help us recover from the aftermath of this unfortunate incident, which has had significant impact on us. We look forward to serving you, and hope to bounce back stronger, after the past several weeks of uncertainty.
We are incredibly grateful for everyone that has supported us since we opened Dad's Luncheonette in 2017. At the same time, something catastrophic like this has given perspective on the challenges we are faced with as a small, independent, family run business built on hard work and dedication. As most restaurant owners & employees know, it takes tremendous energy and resources to keep the train on the tracks and the wheels in motion.
As we reopen, we will continue to operate with the same ethos we always have - doing our best to provide a unique menu prepared with a high level of quality and care, a casual and accessible experience, with a dash of irreverence and unconventionality.
However, this incident has forced us to look at the business from a different lens where we assess our own needs and priorities. In the coming months we would like to figure out how to continue Dad’s in a sustainable way for longevity.
We are open to possibilities and partnerships as we think about the next chapter for Dad’s. If you are an experienced/seasoned restaurateur that has interest in collaborating and expanding to the coast while taking some of the reins on daily operations, please reach out to us via our website.
With deep appreciation and gratitude, we look forward to serving you once again around Friday September 19!
Best,
Scott, Alexis & the Dad’s Team
