First, I want to say thank you for all the prayers and to keep them coming. A lot have been reaching out and asking about Dad. I am going to give an update on Dad and the long road we have ahead of us, especially him.
What started out as being treated for a double bladder infection/UTI over a month's time with two different antibiotics, ended up in the ER per doctor's request in fear of becoming septic due to said bladder infection/UTI, only to find out your urine is fine and being told you are actively dying from cancer. My heart literally stopped for my dad, and I will never forget his face with the news. It came as a shock to us all. One day he was fine, and the next day he couldn't get off the couch, literally.
We have been going to an oncologist who specializes in this. They did a liver biopsy and put a port in his chest. His liver biopsy came back with more bad news. He has gotten hit with two different cancers working against him. We found out he has colon cancer on top of liver cancer. He is scheduled for an emergency colonoscopy tomorrow to see the severity of the other cancer. On the 22nd, 3 days before Christmas, he will start a long road of treatment. He will receive one treatment every three weeks through his port for one cancer, and for the other cancer, I will be trained on a pump that he will receive the other treatment through for 46 hours every two weeks. He is prepared to fight the best he can, not just for us but for my mom. That is what he told her.
This has been so hard to watch, and I try to stay strong while I'm with him. But on the inside, it is killing me, to say the least. Without him doing anything, he had three months. We don't know at this point what the future holds but are praying for a positive outcome with his body reacting to treatment. So please continue to pray for him.
- This was written by my sister. We are reaching out to anyone that is able to help make this unbearable journey financially possible by donating for our father's cancer treatment. Everyone who knows him can attest that he would give the shirt off his back for anyone! He is a pillar in not only our family but in his community. Anything that you are able to donate would be so very much appreciated ❤️
