3 months ago, my father was officially diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. Nobody saw this coming, as he is one to take good care of himself, looking over his health. Symptoms started to show earlier in the year, he would have mood swings, memory loss, and muscle imbalances. It wasn't up until April when things took a drastic turn. Him and his wife were getting ready to go out, when he fell over and could no longer get back up. He was rushed to the hospital where they ran some tests and was later determined he had a mass growing in his brain about the size of a golf ball. This mass is known as Ependymoma. A rare and aggressive tumor that spread quick, pressing up against his central nervous system, hence, him losing mobility and balance. He spent 2 months in the hospital where he underwent 2 brain surgeries to remove majority of the mass ( 90% was removed ) The remaining 10% is to be determined in treatment.
Now he's in recovery at his home. He receives physical therapy and is progressing, slowly but surely. It will be a timely recovery, which is why we ask for any help possible to cover not only medical bills but living expenses as he is no longer able to provide for his home.
Thank you.
