Help My Dad Jerry Paulson Rebuild After Devastating House Fire

On the morning of Monday, May 19 around 5:45 AM, everything changed for my dad. A good Samaritan driving by noticed flames coming from the side of his house. Fearing the worst—since there were vehicles in the driveway—the passerby quickly got neighbors involved, called 911, and bravely kicked down the front door.

Thankfully, they were able to rescue my dad’s beloved 12-year-old chocolate lab. Tragically, his cat Sammy couldn’t be saved, despite their best efforts and those of the fire department.

The fire spread quickly and consumed everything. His home and everything in it, is a complete loss. My dad is now left with nothing but the clothes on his back. You never truly realize how much you take for granted until it’s all gone in an instant.

My daughter and I created this GoFundMe to help with the overwhelming costs of rebuilding—especially since my dad is on a fixed income. From basic necessities to long-term housing and emotional recovery, the road ahead is long. Any help you can give will make a direct and meaningful impact.
