Support Dad: $65,000 Lost to Fraud

I'm starting this fundraiser for my Dad. Dad is 77 years old and a recent widower. He and my mom had been married for over 50 years prior to her recent passing. Dad is a mechanical engineer by trade and has worked hard all his life to have a good life.

In May of this year, he was the victim of a scammer. They took advantage of his kindness and character. These thieves stole over $65,000 from Dad. They used what is called a refund scam and told him that they were from the GeekSquad and that they had refunded his checking account for thousands of dollars and told him he needed to pay them back immediately. So, Dad, being trusting and wanting to do what he thought was right, gave them the money.

This has devastated my Dad. He is heartbroken that he was taken advantage of. This whole ordeal on top of losing Mom has taken a huge toll on him. Dad worked hard all his life to have what he had saved and now it's gone. We are working with a YouTube channel called Scammer Payback to try to prevent this from happening to others.
