Hi everyone,

My name is Emma, and I am a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient. I am immensely grateful for this program as it has allowed me to work, financially assist my family, and obtain a degree. I was brought to this country when I was just a young child. I have built a life here: I am a college graduate, I am happily married to my partner and best friend of 8 years, and I am the mother to our wonderful son.

Unfortunately, ICE's legal branch, the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor (ICE OPLA) has filed motions to recalendar (reopen) administratively closed cases before the immigration court. There are over 300,000 of these cases nationwide and my case is one of them.

My family is unable to afford the legal fees associated with retaining an attorney for court representation and seeking alternative relief, which we need right away, especially as DACA appears to not be enough protection at this time. We are seeking any financial assistance, big or small, to help us afford these services and secure our stability as a family. The legal fees are as follows:

1. $5,000 to retain an attorney for legal representation in court

2. $10,000 for alternative relief (start the green card process)
