Hello, my name is Bri and I am asking for support for the Dreamers affected by the Metro Surge. Over the past few weeks, I have had 50-65 Dreamers reach out to me—many of whom I previously supported during the Metro Surge—letting me know they are unable to pay for their DACA renewal and have lost their jobs. These individuals are about to start the renewal process, but after just starting to work again, they have no money to pay for the necessary fees.

The Metro Surge has had a lasting impact on these Dreamers and their families. Many lost homes, jobs, and financial stability, and now face the daunting challenge of maintaining their legal status. The Department of Homeland Security requires them to file almost a year ahead of time due to long processing times, and many are at risk of losing their legal status, which puts them in even more danger.
