Support Cyrus- Hive Design : Tools Stolen on Christmas
Donation protected
My name is Cyrus Pond, and I am the owner and maker behind Hive Design, a small business dedicated to crafting functional hexagonal micro dwellings—handcrafted backyard offices, guest spaces, and creative retreats. This year has been incredibly challenging, including relocating from Vermont to California due to flooding. Then, on Christmas morning, I woke up to discover my workshop had been broken into, and nearly all my tools—valued at $15,000—were stolen. These are tools I’ve spent years acquiring, making this loss deeply personal and devastating.
These tools aren’t just equipment; they are the lifeblood of Hive Design and essential to my ability to create meaningful, beautiful spaces for others. Losing them feels like losing a piece of myself and my ability to support the community I’ve worked so hard to build.
Hive Design isn’t just a business—it’s my passion and a way to contribute to something larger. My cabins provide people with places to connect, work, dream, and recharge. Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of giving back by sharing my craft, collaborating with local artisans, and championing sustainable design practices.
This is one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced, and I’m humbly asking for your help to rebuild. The funds raised will go directly toward replacing the stolen tools, securing my workshop, and helping me get back on my feet so I can continue to create and give back.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering supporting Hive Design. Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference and helps me take the next step toward recovery. I am deeply grateful for the incredible, supportive, and resilient community surrounding me. I love you all so much!
With gratitude,
Cyrus Pond
