Support Cypress' Japan Exchange Journey
Donation protected
Dear Friends & Family,
Hello, my name is Cypress Tubelle. I am a member of the Japanese National Honor Society at George Washington High School in San Francisco. I have been studying the culture and language of Japan for over two years. This summer, I have an exciting opportunity to go on a school exchange trip to Japan for three weeks.
Last semester, we hosted an exchange student in our home from Koshi High School in Fukui, Japan. This school year, I have volunteered for over 30 hours in multiple different events, like the Lunar New Year parade, the Cherry Blossom festival, and the Hot Chocolate Run. I also received an award from my teacher for my Japanese speaking skills last semester.
These are the things I've been doing to prepare for the summer trip, which will be a good opportunity to improve my Japanese language skills and to learn more authentic Japanese. During the trip, I will be staying with a host family for a week, and I will be volunteering and doing various activities such as planting rice, presenting posters about San Francisco, making instant ramen, and taking a taiko drumming workshop.
I’d love for you to participate in this exciting journey with me. Any support is welcome. My volunteer activities have helped raise some funds for it, but not for the whole cost of the trip (around $5,500 or ¥800,000).
Thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Cypress
