Hello everyone, my name is Cynthia and I am a bit embarrassed to say this and even ask this of anyone, but truth be told, my mom and I have been struggling for quite some time now. My dad passed almost two and a half years ago from cancer, and although I know the phrase, “life goes on,” which is true, we drained our credit cards during the time he was sick and even after, trying to catch up on payments, rent, and bills. It was next to impossible, and we had to let ourselves go completely into debt. I also lost my job of 6 years, and since up until this month, I was fortunate enough to find two jobs, but the unfortunate part is the pay is biweekly, and the hours are not enough with both.

I became the breadwinner of the family, I have not been able to keep up with the payments. My mother is also looking for work, but she has fibromyalgia, and it is very difficult for her to do certain things, so I prefer she just work from home than struggle with her pain. But until then, I have to take charge, which is why I am making this GoFundMe, even though it is hard for me to ask anyone for help because I have always been shown the door.

We are struggling very hard to keep our apartment. Just barely, I make it to the deadline before we are sent eviction notices, and I truly fear that one day they will not keep giving us extensions the way they have this year. This month, I will not have enough for our rent, and it is terrifying to think my family and I could end up on the streets. have been fortunate enough to have had three friends that have been able to help us, but it’s too much this time around, and this month, I know I will not have that money to cover the roof over our heads. The eviction process will start becoming even more impossible to stop because if the eviction processes, then the fees to cancel it will be an extra $1.3k. I do not have too many friends or much of a family to count on for situations like this. I am looking for another job, but regardless, the pay will not be deposited to me in time to make our rental payment.

Even the smallest amount would be extremely helpful to us in this time.
