Hello, my name is Jamie Stephens. My mom, Cynthia Stephens, has been in and out of the hospital for more than 3 months now due to her hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is water on the brain. She has a shunt to drain the extra liquid, but since April, she's been having times when the fluid builds up and she's unable to talk, stand, or make any sense. She's had four brain surgeries, and this whole experience has really taken a toll on both her and our family. Things are slowly getting better for my mom as she is getting physical, occupational, and speech therapy at a rehabilitation center. However, we still have occasional bumps in the road of recovery.

This is why I've created this GFM to help with gas money, bills, and other expenses while she's recovering.
