Cynthia ‘Peaches’ McClendon is a dedicated mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, co-worker, soror (Delta Sigma Theta) and friend. She is also a veteran and longtime federal employee. On the day after Christmas 2019 her life changed forever. Cynthia received the news she had Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and her arduous, life-threatening journey to battle this disease began. In January, she spent approximately 3 months at Emory University Hospital, Atlanta GA as a team of doctors developed a treatment protocol. She has had numerous hospital stays, visits, and procedures since that time and they will continue as she fights to reach remission.
Cynthia has faced many setbacks due to her existing heart disease and other complications. Also, she lives about 100 miles away from Emory so getting to treatment is yet another challenge. She has been unable to work since Christmas. Returning to work is highly unlikely for the foreseeable future. Cynthia has now exhausted her leave benefits. Her family and friends have teamed up to help with housing, bills, prescription and transportation costs, etc. Her mother has been her primary care provider. We are at the point where we need a bigger support team.
Please join Team Peaches by helping in the following ways:
- PRAYERS. Prayers are always welcome. We are praying for complete healing and recovery.

- ANNUAL LEAVE. If you are a federal employee, please consider donating annual leave. Contact us for more information if you would like to donate annual leave.
