Support Curtis and Ruthie: Repairs Their Furnace
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Latrice, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help on behalf of my grandparents, Curtis and Ruthie Campbell, who live in Illinois. For the past three years, their furnace has been broken, and they’ve kept it to themselves, quietly enduring the cold because they didn’t want to burden anyone.
It wasn’t until my recent visit that I discovered the extent of the situation. The moment I arrived, I realized there was no heat in the house. Despite the freezing temperatures outside, they’ve been doing everything they can to get by, layering clothes, using space heaters, and making do. But with winter in full swing, it’s clear that this is no longer sustainable or safe for their health.
My grandparents are both on fixed incomes and simply don’t have the means to replace the furnace. They’ve always been the first to help others, but right now, they need our help.
I’m hoping to raise about $1500 to cover the cost of repairs and/or new furnace and its installation. This will ensure that my grandparents can stay warm and safe through the harsh Chicago winters, without the constant worry of being in a cold house.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and will go directly to helping them get the heat they need as soon as possible. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others would also mean the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for considering a donation to help my grandparents who have always put others first. Let’s make sure they get the warmth they deserve.
Update: A repair technician visited the house today (02/21) to inspect the furnace and mentioned that replacing the fan might resolve the issue. The repair could cost between $500-1200. If this is the case, any remaining funds will either cover the repair cost or be used toward purchasing a washer and dryer, which the household currently lacks.
