Hi, my name is Gayle Reid. My husband Curtis and I are the owners of Topnotch Island Flavor Kitchen and we are seeking assistance to help with hurricane relief efforts for the countless people suffering in Jamaica at this present moment from the catastrophic category 5 hurricane Melissa. As Jamaican natives we are emotionally guted and feel the dire need to return to Jamaica to help our family and community rebuild hands-on. We have made the decision on closing our business for awhile and return to Jamaica with essential items and basic necessities. Our goal is to distribute as much care packages as we can accumulate and also host a community outreach Kitchen to serve our people the most basic need, which is food. Melissa, one of the most intense hurricane ever recorded in history to develop in the Atlantic made landfall in Jamaica as a category 5 monster and reaked havoc at a whopping 185mph and you can only imagine. We kindly ask for your assistance to help us acquire the necessary items needed to do so. No amount is too small or too big. If you are unable to donate please share. Please also pray for the people of Jamaica. There's a long road to recovery filled with hardships. With your help we can make a big difference in the lives of many. If you're in the Phoenix area and prefer to donate supplies you can drop them off at Topnotch Island Flavor kitchen 16816 N Cave Creek Rd. We will accept new sleeping bags, camping tents, toiletries, feminine products, diapers, wipes, socks, flip flops, first-aid kits, children clothing (new or lightly worn) canned goods and other non perishables . Thank you in advance for your support. Updated 11/16 drop boxes will be on location at the restaurant until 11/23. With your assistance we have already accumulated a few drums of food items and emergency supplies, clothing, over the counter medicines and other items to be sent to Florida then by cargo to Jamaica. It is a costly process as you can imagine as there are no ports in Arizona. Thank you all so very much. Together we definitely can!
