Help Support Curtis After Devastating Hit-and-Run Injury
On the morning of February 20th, my little brother Curtis was working along Route W in Morgan County, directing traffic as part of his job with Hentges’s Tree Service, clearing utility right-of-ways to keep our infrastructure safe.
While performing his duties, Curtis was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
He was rushed to Lake Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery for multiple fractures. Curtis now faces a long and difficult recovery, with doctors estimating he will be unable to return to work for at least six months.
Because this was a hit-and-run crash, there is currently no insurance information from the responsible party to help cover the financial impact of this incident. While a workers’ compensation claim will assist with medical expenses, and some lost wages it will not fully replace Curtis’s lost wages during his recovery.
Curtis is a hardworking father who provides for his household through physically demanding work. During this time, he will still have a mortgage, utilities, groceries, and the everyday needs of his children to worry about, all while being unable to earn a paycheck.
All donations will go directly toward helping Curtis cover essential household bills and provide for his children as he focuses on healing and getting back on his feet.
If you’re able to give, any amount helps. If not, please consider sharing this page and keeping Curtis and his family in your thoughts during this difficult time. My sister in law, his wife, Brandi Whittle has been added as the beneficiary. All donated funds go directly to her and my little brother.
