Hi, I’m Currie, a filmmaker and vintage clothing seller based in Baltimore. I’m currently directing The Haze, a short film about codependency, identity collapse, and the monstrous feminine told in the tradition of a Hitchcockian psychological thriller.
The Haze marks a pivotal moment in my artistic evolution. After years of running a vintage business rooted in aesthetics, I’m returning to narrative filmmaking. This project gives shape to ideas I’ve long explored through fashion styling, photography, and design, now expressed through the language of cinema. I wrote the script as a way to process grief and express my point of view of relationship dynamics. The Haze allows me to dive deeper into immersive storytelling and explore transgressive themes around victimhood, social alienation, and toxic relationships. It’s the foundation for a larger body of work examining the intersections of the feminine experience.
The Haze is a collaborative effort with a small, dedicated group of deeply creative filmmakers. We’re keeping production intimate and intentional: two actors, one house, and a script that blends psychological horror with a visually rich, emotionally layered approach. We're shooting principle photography in July at my home in Woodberry, Baltimore, using the city’s lush, overgrown summer landscape to heighten the film’s eerie and claustrophobic tone. With a strong concept, a clear vision, and a talented team already in place, we’re now seeking funds to bring it to life and properly support the artists involved.
I’m raising funds to cover essential production costs: paying cast and crew, buying and renting gear, feeding everyone on set, and bringing this strange, beautiful film to life. If you’re able to contribute, you’re helping support a team of emerging artists committed to creating bold, unconventional cinema.
