Support Csaba, a Single Father, During his Cancer Treatment

Donation protected

My name is Ágnes, I am writing to ask for your support for my brother Csaba during a very difficult time in our life. He is three years older than me, but more than a big brother, he has always been one of my closest friend. He is an individual who has consistently given to others and now, today, he is the one who urgently needs our help.

Over two years ago, Csaba was diagnosed with aggressive metastatic prostate cancer. Which has since spread to his bones and liver. The pain, exhaustion, and emotional weight of this battle are something no one should ever have to face alone. He has begun chemotherapy, but his diagnosis “High-grade, poorly differentiated metastatic carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation and an HRAS mutation.” shows that chemotherapy is not going to be enough and he needs special targeted treatment and he is qualified to enter a clinical trial period. While we hold onto hope, the treatments have taken an enormous toll on his body and strength. I am here with him every step of the way, helping however I can, but the reality of daily life has become increasingly difficult and uncertain.

As a child, Csaba was a competitive swimmer, and after more than 40 years away from the sport, he found his way back to swimming as an adult with the Lake Gators. Swimming became more than exercise—it became a source of strength, healing, and hope, both mentally and physically.

Even while battling prostate cancer, Csaba continued to swim. The water gave him a sense of freedom and calm when so much else felt out of control. Although the cancer has now spread to his bones and liver, his greatest hope is to return to the water again when his body allows. For him, swimming represents resilience, recovery, and the belief that life can continue after unimaginable hardship.

Because of the intensity of his chemotherapy treatment, Csaba is currently unable to work. While he should be focusing entirely on healing, the growing financial strain—rent, groceries, medical costs, basic living expenses and taking care of his son as a single father —has become overwhelming and urgent. In addition, his daughter, who lives out of state with her mother, Csaba continues to pay monthly child support, adding further financial strain during this already overwhelming life.

I fully believe that this difficult chapter is temporary. I know my brother’s strength.
However, to successfully complete chemotherapy, or a possible clinical trial period, he urgently needs stability, time, and relief from the financial strain he is currently facing.

Your donation—no matter the amount—can make an immediate difference. It will allow Csaba to focus on treatment, heal, get through the most demanding phases of his treatment, and maintain a safe, stable life for himself and his children during this critical time.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story, for caring, and for standing with my brother in this fight. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page—every share helps reach someone who can. Every prayer, every kind word, and every act of generosity truly matters.

With love and gratitude,
Ágnes
