Many of you know Crystal Hershey (White) from her years as a waitress in Decatur, IN, or from attending Adams Central with her. She has been a bright light in the lives of many.
In February of 2021, Crystal’s life was shaken when she suffered her first epileptic seizure. The seizures continued, reoccurring weeks to a month or so of each other.
In February of 2024, Crystal had her first stay at Cleveland Clinic. The goal of this stay was for Crystal to have seizures that enabled them to collect data. If they could pinpoint the origin of the seizures, they could possibly stop them through surgery. After six days at Cleveland, Crystal was sent home. They weren’t able to collect enough data.
In August of 2025, Crystal went back to Cleveland Clinic for another study. This time, after five days and four seizures, enough data was collected!
After determining that her seizures were coming from the left temporal lobe of her brain, surgery was scheduled.
On Tuesday, December 30th, Crystal is having brain surgery. The surgeon will make a large “C” incision on the left side of Crystal’s head. The surgery is called a Left Sided Craniotomy for Temporopolar Resection.
Crystal has been a waitress at the Decatur Pancake House for years and also waitresses at Pizza King of Decatur. After surgery, Crystal will be out of work for 4 weeks.
My goal is for the burden of her monthly expenses to be taken so she can focus on healing. To know Crystal is to love her. Thank you so much for any donation and prayers.
