Help Crystal with her recovery
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my best friend of over 25 years, Crystal. She’s one of the strongest, most determined people I know—and right now, she’s in need. She’s recovery from a double mastectomy after a breast cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, that surgery also found that her lymph node taken during surgery was positive for carcinoma.
Crystal is currently undergoing daily radiation treatments for the next 5–7 weeks. The toll this takes physically, emotionally, and financially is heavy—but true to who she is, she’s powering through with courage and grace. What she won’t do is ask for help. That’s where I come in.
Cancer doesn’t just affect the body—it drains your energy, emotions, and resources. Crystal is doing everything she can to stay afloat: she recently interviewed and was hired for a part-time summer job, and she’s working summer school too. She’s trying so hard to maintain stability while juggling appointments, therapy, and mounting medical bills.
Despite all of this, she still shows up for others, and never complains. But the reality is—she could really use our support.
Your donation will go directly toward:
• Travel to and from daily radiation treatments
• Medical bills and copays (it’s a lot, even with insurance)
• Basic living expenses while she focuses on recovery
If you know Crystal, you know she’s got the biggest heart. She’s always been there for others—now it’s our turn to be there for her.
Whenever Crystal and I hang out, we have this little thing we say when it’s time to go: “Watch out for the deer!” And we both throw our hands up beside our heads like antlers and laugh. I said it one time 20 years ago and it stuck. It’s our way of saying “I love you—be safe.” That’s what this fundraiser is too. A way of saying: We love you. We’re with you. We’ve got you.
Please consider donating, and if you’re not in a place to give, sharing this means the world too. Every gesture, big or small, will help ease Crystal’s burden and let her focus on what matters most: healing.
With love and gratitude,
