Support Cristina's Journey to Nursing
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cristina Alto and I am writing to share a bit about my current situation in hopes of finding support during a very challenging time in mine and my families lives. Recently I was unexpectedly let go from my job which has caused tremendous financial and emotional strain on my household, as I was the sole provider for my family. My husband, who is an enrolled member of the Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, suffers from severe medical conditions that require multiple specialists and frequent hospitalizations. This has made it impossible for him to work, and the responsibility of providing for our family to rest entirely on my shoulders. Despite the obstacles that I am currently facing, I remain driven to building a stable and secure future for my family. Due to being my husband's primary caregiver, I have been inspired to pursue a career in nursing and am currently in the process of enrolling in Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program. My goal is to not only return to work but to grow in a career where I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, just as many medical professionals have done for my husband. I am humbly seeking any assistance, resources, or opportunities that may help me navigate this transition and stay afloat while I work toward rebuilding our future and eventually contributing to our community by becoming a licensed medical professional. Thank you for your time.
