Our family works in church planting in Ecuador, and Cristian and Shirley are our teammates. They serve in youth ministry, children's ministry, music, training, communications, and preaching. Yesterday Cristian received the shocking news that his mother had passed away suddenly. As they walk through their grief, Cristian and his brother also have to navigate the paperwork and processes for the funeral and burial, while covering all the costs personally. Here in Ecuador funerals can't be delayed more than a day or two, so families may end up in debt as they seek to cover expenses urgently. We want to show Cristian and Shirley that we love and support them by helping relieve some of the financial stress in the midst of their loss.
