Support Crista's Dream: Save Her Home

Hi, I’m Crista. I am a single mama to an incredible almost 7 year old soul, a natural-born healer, and an artist. I bought our first home three years ago and loved watching my son grow up in Chelsea.

I lost my full-time career seven months ago due to living in an at-will employment state. Because of our states laws, unemployment benefits through the state was not granted. It has been an ongoing process to reopen this case.

The industry I worked in is small. It hasn’t panned out to find an open position at another company. With the lack of work, this created a domino effect financially and I’ve had to give up my reliable vehicle.

With no other avenues, I decided to dive headfirst into my dream of building my own company. I had been able to create it before I lost my job and my intentions were to build it while I worked full time. Now without that as an option, I don’t have the cushion of a wait period while it grows.

I create all-natural, herbal medicines to heal body, mind, and spirit. I also hold sacred space and circles for women, men, and children to release and step into healthier versions of themselves.

I put my heart and soul into my company. And it is growing exponentially. However, it’s been a struggle to make ends meet while it is still growing. Despite the financial hardship, this is my calling. I am not ready to give up on something that I feel betters not just myself, but others I am around as well.

Currently I have contracts with local businesses to carry my products. I’m active in vendor shows. Over the past 6 months, there is a 78% increase in repeat sales. There is a 40% increase in revenue from referrals. I also hold triple the amount of community events in my home as well as run the entirety of manufacturing, creating and shipping products from my home.

At this point, despite my best efforts and an overwhelming support from the community, I am behind on mortgage. I have received a notice of an auction date on November 21st in the morning. If I can pay this back, my home will not go into foreclosure.

If I lose my home, I will lose a portion of my business revenue from my events. My son and I will no longer have anywhere to live.

At this point, I have applied for positions outside of my industry. But I will also be starting off at an entry level position, which is what I hoped to avoid to focus on my business to ultimately grow fast enough to support us and not get us in the situation we are currently in, as the business did not quite grow as quickly as it was necessary.

My new plan is to take an entry level position while maintaining the work I have put into growing my company. It’s not going to be an easy road to get us back to safety. But if you know me personally, defeat has never been an option. I put in hard work and expect that I can overcome this with your help.

I am asking for contributions from my loved ones and people who support the growth and development of To The Moon Apothecary. Without your help, I will lose my home. With the loss of my home, I will have to shut down my business and my dreams. I’d hate to think that down the road how this could result in the livelihood of my son.
