Imagine preparing for a mission to the Moon or Mars. Not decades from now, but today.
Before astronauts can safely travel into deep space, it’s necessary for them to learn how to live, work, solve problems and conduct research in isolated, confined and extreme environments (ICE). Analog astronaut missions allow us to develop those skills here on Earth while advancing the science that will help future explorers journey further than ever before.
We are Crew Trouvelot, an international team of young STEM students and early-career professionals from all around the world – Mexico, Austria, the US, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Brazil and the UK - united by a shared passion for space exploration, scientific discovery and contributing to the advancement and future of human spaceflight.
Although we come from diverse professional backgrounds and different parts of the world, we have come together with one shared purpose: To challenge ourselves through analog astronautics while contributing to research that will help prepare future explorers for missions to the Moon, Mars and beyond.
As graduates from the MMAARS (Mars-Moon Astronautics Academy & Research Sciences) eXplorerNAUT™ Virtual Level 1 and 2 Programs, our crew has been selected to conduct an MMAARS Analog Astronautics Mission at the ECOS Habitat in Minnesota, USA, in November 2026.
Over the course of the 10-day simulated space mission, our crew will live and work together in an isolated and confined habitat, carrying out interdisciplinary research projects in multiple areas developed by the crew and the MMAARS team, such as:
- Human performance and behavioural health
- Astronomy and instrumentation
- Cybersecurity and artificial intelligence
- Engineering and operational technologies
- Crew resource management.
This mission is far more than just a simulation.
It is the opportunity to conduct meaningful scientific research, but beyond the science, this mission is about learning to work together as a cohesive crew, and developing the teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required to operate safely and effectively in Isolated and Confined Environments (ICE), skills that are equally valuable for future long-duration space missions and operations in other extreme environments on Earth.
Why we need your support
Even though every member of Crew Trouvelot is investing significant personal time, effort and resources into preparing for this mission, participation also involves substantial expenses.
Your donation will directly support:
- Travel and transportation
- International visas and documentation
- Mission administration and insurance
- Scientific equipment and research materials
- Operational supplies and training.
Your contribution, regardless of its size, ensures each crew member can safely and fully participate in our mission and effectively carry out the research we have spent months preparing.
Why your support matters
When supporting Crew Trouvelot, you are not only supporting a team of young passionate scientists and engineers to successfully pursue an extraordinary opportunity. You are investing in international collaboration, in research that advances human performance in extreme environments and the future of sustainable human exploration on close extraterrestrial bodies and beyond.
Every donation brings us one step closer to making this mission possible.
