Support Creighton's Spinal Injury Recovery

Friends and Family -

I’m reaching out today to ask for support for my little brother, Creighton Groom. On August 31st, 2024 he was involved in a devastating diving accident on the Mississippi River. Creighton sustained a spinal cord injury and is actively recovering at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. We are relieved that his brain scan came back normal and we can interact with and love on him as much as possible as he still requires a breathing tube. Our goal for this weekend is to get him off ventilation. This will be a huge win and he is working hard towards this goal. Longer term my dad & Renita are already seeking out the best rehabilitation centers in the country for him to continue his recovery.

For those of you who don’t know Creighton directly, or want to be reminded of how amazing he is, here’s a little bit about him:

At 19 years old, Creighton has not had the opportunity to grow the financial security that will be required to cover the looming medical costs in his future. Your contribution, of any amount, will go directly towards medical costs not covered by insurance and rehabilitation costs which will be crucial in Creighton’s journey to gain independence. Thank you for your financial generosity to help him reach his potential. It has been an incredibly difficult time, but we remain hopeful for a recovery that will lead to a purposeful life for Creighton.
