we just wanted to reach out again and say Mahalo nui loa for all the support. Your prayers are being heard, we know, we feel it and are so blessed by each and everyone of you.
Creighton Is motivated to be well again and get back to work. But I’m making sure he takes things slowly and carefully. It’s hard for a guy who’s used to never sitting still!

“ one moment, my husband was trying to do a kind deed for a neighbor, and the next he was lying on the ground with a broken spine”

Aloha, my name is Susan and my husband is Creighton.

It’s very difficult for me to be here asking for help, but our family is in a tough spot. Anyone who knows Creighton knows what a kind and generous man he is. He’s always the first to help.-whether it’s family, friends, or even a stranger.

Recently a neighbor did me a huge favor. I was excited to come home and tell Creighton the good news and asked if he could gather some avocados so I could give them to her. Wanting to find the biggest the nicest ones.-even though he had never met this woman-he climbed our avocado tree to make me happy.

While he was about 15 to 17 feet up, a branch broke, and he fell to the ground with his head landing 1st and his back twisted with the blunt force landing.

Our grandson, Riley heard groaning and went outside to check. He found his PopPop lying on the ground, scratched up and unable to move. Riley had the presence of mind to call 911 right away.

I arrived home home shortly after and was led back to see my husband lying there. I did my best to comfort him until the paramedics arrived. They quickly transported him to the ER where test revealed that he had broken several vertebrae. One vertebrae was cracked completely in half, leaving his spinal cord dangerously exposed. The doctors told us that one wrong move could have had devastating life altering consequences.

By God‘s grace, surgery was successful. We truly believe God had his hands on Creighton that day, laying him down as gently as a 185 lb man could fall.

Creighton now faces up to six months of physical therapy before he can return to normal life.
I see the anxiety in his eyes the worry he carries for his family. He has always been the provider for our children and grandchildren, and now he’s facing the fear of how bills will be paid while he recovers.

Creighton does not know I’m writing this I hope in time he will accept whatever comes of it.

We are grateful for any amount that you were able to give. And if you were unable to donate, we humbly asked to uplift his spirit and bring healing to his body. Prayer means everything to our family.

Thank you so much for taking time to read our story. If you made it this far, I know how much you love and care for Creighton.

With all my heart, Mahalo Nui
Much love and aloha,
Susan Sato

Creighton Was made aware of the gofundme last night and when I came to the hospital today I opened up the page and he broke down crying. He is so overwhelmed. Me too.
he is crying and crying. He can’t even believe it. But also knows how beautiful & loving all the people we know are.
from the depths of our hearts we are so grateful. He is taking a short walk today surrounded by a small army of PT experts.
God Blessings on Everyone.

TUESDAY Evening update. He had a good day today, he looks so much better and speaking more clearly. Still some troubles with small things but he’s working hard through it. Your prayers are heard and each small improvement is from the Lord. We give it all to Him. Isaiah 41:10
Fear Not I Am With You; Be Not Dismayed, For I Am Your God. I Will Help You, Ì WIll Uphold You With My Righteous Right Hand.

today Tuesday January 27 update
Monday Creighton had Occupational Therapy he faired well. He was looking forward to Physical Therapy and getting out of the bed but that didn’t happen, so hopefully today he will get to move.
He is overwhelming grateful for all the love and support, text messages and prayers and donations. We couldn’t have imagined all of this just for us. It’s very humbling but uplifting at the same time. We will be forever indebted to all of you.
I want you all to know that every prayer and every inspirational message, scripture, visit or donation means more than you could possibly imagine. It has made all the difference in Creighton’s path to healing. Relieving that burden from him is everything right now.
