My good friend Michael Lee, better known as Creek, experienced a devastating tragedy last night. After spending the evening with me and our band, RELIX, Creek returned to his duplex home only to find it engulfed in flames. The Hampton Fire Department was already on the scene, battling the fire. Thankfully, Creek was with us at the time—if he hadn’t been, he might not have survived. Tragically, two people who lived in the downstairs part of the duplex lost their lives in the fire. Creek lost everything he owned except for the clothes he was wearing.

Right now, Creek is in urgent need of support. He could use help with temporary housing, clothes, food, and anything that can remind him he is not alone. I’ve helped him by paying for a room for four nights at the hotel where the Red Cross initially put him up, but he needs more help to get back on his feet. Creek has always been a good friend to me and to many others, and I know he would do the same for anyone in need.

I’m starting this fundraiser because I truly believe Creek shouldn’t have to face this hardship alone or risk being on the streets.
