If you know Craig, you know that he’s the guy who can light up any room. He’s the life of the party, the one with the quick laugh, the big smile, and the ability to turn an ordinary moment into a memory you’ll cherish forever. He’s also the friend who will drop everything — no matter what — to help someone in need.

Yesterday, On what began as a normal day spent with friends, our best friend Craig suffered a tragic and unexpected accident that changed his life in an instant. While relaxing near the water, Craig fell backwards off a dock into less than 2 feet of water — headfirst. He was life flighted to a trauma hospital in Boise, Idaho, where doctors confirmed he had sustained a bruised spinal cord, three fractured vertebrae in his neck, and other traumatic injuries.

Craig, a dedicated surgical tech in Pocatello and a proud single homeowner, he will now spend over a week in the hospital undergoing intensive treatment and evaluation. After that he will be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility, where he could spend anywhere from 2 months to 6 months, depending on his progress and recovery.

Even with the seriousness of his injuries, Craig is approaching each day with the same strength, humor, and determination that have always defined him. But the road ahead will be long, uncertain, and costly.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for the man who’s always been there for everyone else.
