Support Craig's Battle Against Stomach Cancer

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends of Craig and Robin,

Several months ago, Craig and Robin received news that no one ever wants to hear—Craig was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. As you can imagine, this diagnosis has been incredibly overwhelming and life-altering for them both. Yet, throughout it all, they’ve remained steadfast—leaning into their faith and seeking the best possible medical guidance to navigate this difficult journey.
Recently, they traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, one of the leading cancer hospitals in the country. There, after a thorough evaluation, Craig was given a treatment protocol specifically tailored to his condition. They have now returned to the New Iberia/Lafayette area to begin this next phase—chemotherapy infusion treatments.

However, in the process of preparing for treatment, Craig and Robin discovered that what they believed to be a traditional insurance plan is actually part of a cost-sharing program—one that is unfortunately not accepted by hospitals or oncologists in their network. This means the entirety of Craig’s treatment will need to be paid out-of-pocket, at least for now, while they work diligently to secure help through Medicare and other governmental support programs.

Chemotherapy for stage 4 stomach cancer is typically aggressive. Common regimens—such as FOLFOX, FOLFIRI, CAPOX, or combinations involving cisplatin and 5-FU—are often administered every two weeks. On average, each treatment can cost between $15,000 and $20,000. With treatment planned over the course of 4–6 months, the total costs may reach as much as $180,000 or more.

This past week, Craig bravely began his first round of chemotherapy infusions. Despite the challenges ahead, he and Robin continue to press forward with courage and grace. And, as anyone who knows them can attest, they are incredibly giving people—quietly strong, faithful, and never ones to ask for help.

That’s why I’m reaching out on their behalf. I know many of us have been wondering how we can support them in a meaningful way during this time. Most importantly, they need our continued prayers—for healing, strength, and peace. But if you also feel led to stand with them financially, every bit of support will go directly toward easing the tremendous burden of these medical expenses.

Let’s come together as the loving community we are—lifting Craig and Robin up in both spirit and substance during this incredibly difficult season.
With love and gratitude,

Jude
