Support Craig Waters in His ALS Battle
Donation protected
My name is Mark Waters. I am launching this campaign to help my Big Brother Craig navigate his journey with ALS. He is an inspiration to me and those lucky enough to know him.
Who He Is:
Craig Waters is a kind, loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He is the first to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. He proudly serves his church. He is an avid sports fan. His favorite teams are the Atlanta Braves, the UNC Tarheels, and the Carolina Panthers. Craig is quick with a smile, a kind word, encouragement and even a few dad jokes. When you leave a conversation with Craig you always feel better. Craig is always positive and optimistic. Craig grew up in Roanoke Va in the Cave Spring area. He has been living in the Charlotte NC area since 1996.
Craig has faced heart ache and triumph when navigating the critical illness of his infant daughter Victoria when she had cancer at only 4 weeks old which required months of chemotherapy and ultimately led to a Heart Transplant. Craig and his wife Cyndi are no strangers to doctor’s offices and hospitals. Victoria still requires close follow up with large medical bills. His daughter Victoria is the light of his life.
Craig’s Story:
Craig Waters, age 58, has recently been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a devastating terminal illness that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. This cruel, incurable disease has already impacted Craigs ability to walk, use, his hand, and his ability to work or drive a car. As ALS progresses, he will lose the ability to move his limbs, talk, eat, drink, swallow and ultimately breathe.
Why He Needs Your Help:
Due to the rapid progression of ALS, the financial burden of this disease is overwhelming. Craig urgently needs home modifications, assistance with mounting medical bills, and support for everyday living expenses. He will soon need a power wheelchair as well as a Handicap Van. These expenses are hefty. These items help Craig manage his daily life.
How You Can Help:
We are reaching out to our community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers to help us raise the necessary funds to ensure Craig can continue to live with dignity and comfort. Your donations will directly contribute to:
*Home Modifications - Bathroom, ramps and those items needed modify his home.
* Handicap Van: Purchasing a handicap van with a powerchair lift.
* Medical Bills: Covering medical bills and related expenses. Power wheelchairs are $45K
* Living Expenses: Supporting everyday living costs. Craig is no longer able to work.
