Thankfully, scans show that the cancer has not spread, and there is a treatment plan that gives everyone hope. But Craig has a long road ahead, including several months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery and then recovery. Right now, Craig is trying to process a diagnosis that no one is ever prepared to hear while also facing the very real financial impact of being unable to work consistently during treatment.

Although Craig is expected to receive disability benefits, there is a five-month waiting period before those payments begin. Savings are running low, and Craig is also faced with having to find a new place to live. The last thing Craig should have to worry about while fighting cancer is whether rent can be paid, groceries can be bought, or there is enough gas in the car to get to treatment.
