Craig Johnson is a 54-year-old husband, father, and man of faith who was diagnosed with ALS on May 6, 2025.

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), often called Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive and terminal neurological condition that attacks the nerve cells responsible for controlling muscle movement. Over time, it robs a person of the ability to walk, use their hands, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe—while the mind and awareness remain fully intact. There is no cure.

Until Craigs diagnosis, he lived a physically active, full life. He is a man who loves the outdoors, spending as much time there as possible. An avid hunter, Craig has harvested some remarkable trophies over the years—but for him, hunting was never about the size of the animal. It was about the people. The shared time with friends and family, the quiet moments, the stories told, and the bonds built in the mountains and fields mattered far more than anything hanging on a wall.

Craig is a devoted husband to his wife, Carol, and a deeply committed father to his children Cutter, Beau, Randi, Riley, and Ryan. Above all, he is a man of faith who believes in Jesus Christ, and that faith has been a steady anchor for him and his family through every step of this ALS journey. Family has always been at the center of Craig’s life, and his greatest pride comes from being present, protective, and faithful to those he loves most. He is also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, with a seventh on the way—a role that brings him immense joy and purpose, even as he faces the daily realities of ALS

Since his ALS diagnosis in July 2025, Craig’s life has changed rapidly. Tasks that were once second nature now require assistance. As ALS progresses, the need for specialized medical care, adaptive equipment, home modifications, and ongoing support increases significantly. These needs place an enormous emotional and financial strain on any family, and the progression is relentless.

This fundraiser is meant to help carry some of that burden—to support Craig and his family with medical expenses, mobility equipment, and the day-to-day costs that come with ALS. Most importantly, it is a way to surround them with love, support, and reassurance that they are not facing this alone.

Craig’s faith remains strong. His body may be failing, but his spirit, character, and love for his family remain unshaken.

Thank you for taking the time to read Craig’s story. Any donation, prayer, or share is deeply appreciated and makes a real difference in this journey.
